I bought this pen a long time ago and because I did not know how button fillers worked, I thought the pen was spoilt when the cap came off. For the longest time it waited for me in a bathroom toothbrush holder like a misunderstood lover. I was so glad one day when I rescued it from that make shift garbage pile.

Here is my baby...

She spots a springy medium oblique nib.

She is not much of a looker but by can she write!

Those are wonderful pens! I have an early Vac in the Shadow Wave pattern, bought by virtue of a couple fuzzy photos on eBay. When it came I was at first somewhat disappointed, because it had taken a lot of abuse over the years. The pen had been posted so often and so tightly that the barrel was worn where the cap lip sat, and the inner cap was oddly out of round, meaning that when I cap the pen I have to be careful the nib doesn't catch.

But I send it off to Danny Fudge to restore the filler, and I cleaned up the rest. I'll be damned if it isn't one of my favorite pens - the smoothest XF / F nib I have, and it has a perfectly balanced feel in my hand, writing effortlessly. The exterior feels just a bit worn, and when I hold it, the pen feels like an old friend that I can confide in.

Congrats on using such a nice Parker on a regular basis - there is some soul in that pen!
