Hello FP Geeks!

I received an offer to purchase the body of one of the old faceted Vanishing Points (dated 1974). The seller got the pen in poor condition - the nib unit's nib and feed were slightly bent out of place. Further, the pen does not always "click" into place. When the button is pressed, the nib extends outside the body of the pen but more often than not would go back in rather than click into place.

Can this be user repaired? I am not sure if the problem is due to the warped nib unit (and thus can be fixed with a new nib unit) or if it's something wrong with the mechanism.

Thanks!

I have two just like yours. I think it was a defect in the manufacturing of this pen. Mine does the same click in place as yours does.

You could contact Ron Zorn (Main Street Pens). He's commented on FPN about having repaired, or at least tried to repair, some of these pens.
