One of my "go to" inks...almost always have on pen or another filled with it!

I like this shade of red & use it now & again. It's good mixed with a drop or two of Monaco, Matador or Poppy &/or water to lighten very slightly and improve the shading.

Oxblood was almost my choice for a red ink, but I've ended up going with Diamine Red Dragon for the last few years. The brown of Oxblood turned me off a bit, and I liked the black/purple undertones of RD. Both good inks, just for different sets of tastes. The seem to behave very similarly.

I'll have to check out the Red Dragon.

The bit about mixing is right on. Sometimes I add a bit of Diamine Eclipse to the Oxblood, for a deep indigo red shade, my favorite color.

I'll have to try that mix as I have Eclipse too. It looks intriguing.

Now that the waterman portion of my brain is free, I'd like to hear more about your ink mixing exploits.
This is no studied mix, just a sample of potential in bold dip pen writing, Diamine Oxblood, plus Diamine Eclipse:
