So I have to send my M101n in Tortoise for repair under warranty and just wanted to hear from others who have sent their pens in for their thoughts.

Just a little nervous and want to be sure I do everything correct.

Thanks for any advise.

I have not had them do repair, but have had them address an issue with a nib. It was done very promptly, professionally, and with good communication. Additionally, within the last week I've had an acquaintance in another pen group ask about them when he had an issue with a brand new Pelikan, and it was handled the exact same way, and even more expeditiously. I can't remember the woman's name at the moment who seems to be the point person to deal with these, but she was a pleasure to work with through email.

Best of luck, hope this allays some hesitations.

I dealt with Nancy Kopec at Chartpak, and she was very helpful.

I have been developing a professional relationship with Abi at Chartpak and she is a great resource to the Pelikan community. Very easy to deal with. I have had one pen repaired outside of warranty by Chartpak and was very happy with the process and end result. I would not worry as your pen is in good hands. I interviewed Abi and wrote about Chartpak's policies, as well as my experience, if that information may be of benefit to you; http://wp.me/p4XMw3-tP. Hope that you get your pen back quickly and in perfect writing shape. Good luck.

Thanks everyone...

Josh it was Abi that answered the phone lol... so she took care of me and explained it all.

Unfortunately the pens issue will have to go back to Germany so it's an expected wait of about 3 months ... BLAH !!!!

It's a stress crack on the top red ring that meets the piston knob. The crack while small is there and I fear it will grow. Plus its on the bottom of the ring where it meets the tortoise body. Heres a pic...

Well I am here to report back that my pen is with me again :)

Charpak got it back yesterday from Germany and sent it to me UPS 1 day saver so i got it back super fast.

Thank you all for the help and vote of confidence in them. Was a breeze to go through the process. They answer the phone, email promptly & shipped my pen back asap.

So I got a pen with a small manufacturing defect and they took care of it right away with no issues.

Abi Weeks of Chartpack was outstanding !

Abi at Chartpak has been extraordinarily helpful on numerous occasions for me. She's one good reason to invest in Pelikans!

Yup, they're the best! Nancy sent me about 10 free inner caps for my white tortoise after I told her I liked to clean the cap out by disassembling it.

Agreed!
I had my Toledo sent to Germany through her assistance, and the service was outstanding.
Sorry I didn't spot your thread sooner.

I envy you(se).

I have an M1000 that needed some attention. Here in Korea. I sent it to Seoul and they sent it on to Germany. That was in May. We are getting on 3 months and still no sign on super expensive pen that was brand new and had a nib issue. I wish I could have gone through Chartpack. Grrr....

One more for Abi Weeks. She helped me with three different pens and is priceless. She sets the standard for customer service.
