View Full Version : The inks of... My dad's postcards...

I really wasn't sure where to put this, but this seemed like as good a place as any...

First the background... My dad is an artist, so my in-laws in Japan got him a calendar that that had images of their hometown done in ink. Part of the calendar is actually a postcard that has a small image, the same as the month's picture.

So my dad uses an old Victorian dip pen to fill in the postcard and sends it to me and my family. He always uses interesting ink. So I though I'd share them on here, for both the ink picture and the ink my dad used to write :)

Some of the other colours in the image look funny due to the colour correction to make sure that the ink colour looked as true as possible ;)

I also wanted to share one of my dad's own ink and wash paintings with you.
It is called "9.30pm Maiden Loch, June", it is a departure from his usual style using the light shades and colours only to separate the features.
