HisNibs.com update -- Conklinetta and American Flags
May 4th, 2015

Greetings all,

The long wait is over! The third member of the Conklin limited edition
Heritage series has finally arrived -- the Conklinetta Side Button Filler
http://www.hisnibs.com/heritage.htm. It's an absolutely gorgeous, slim
writer -- brought back from Conklin's illustrious past.

The Conklin All American http://www.hisnibs.com/all_american.htm series is
once again in stock, with the barrel imprint now reading 'Ohio' instead of
'Hoio' -- except for one remaining of the Tortoiseshell pens. Who'll be the
person to claim this last collectors item?

In honor of the All American collection, Lai Yee has found some terrific
American Flag http://www.hisnibs.com/pen_rolls.htm material from which to
make pen pouches and pen rolls to carry them in!

As this newsletter goes out to a mailing list of thousands of customers,
please understand if there's a delay in answering your email queries or
orders after one of these is sent. We will respond in order received and as
soon as possible!

As is the case with the other Conklin Heritage models, the Conklinetta
Side-Button Filler reintroduces a classic Conklin model from the company's
illustrious past -- in a deep, lustrous pearlescent Italian resin.

Laying on a deep blue background, the blue, white and cream pearlescent
inclusions make for a spectacularly rich resin. This is a pen that you can
find yourself gazing at for considerable periods of time as your rotate it
before your eyes. Of course, while doing so, it's a bit difficult to not
have your attention repeatedly drawn to that prominent button proudly
projecting from the side of the barrel!

Like the Sleeve Filler, has an integrated design to allow the user to
deflate the internal ink sac and allow it to suck-in ink upon its
re-inflation. In the case of the Conklinetta, this is achieved by pressing
down on --and then releasing -- the button on the side of the barrel.

"Dear Norman: If you quote me again, some of your patrons will think I'm
paid because of my other observations on the pens that I've bought from you.
But at the risk of it, I want to acknowledge receipt of the Conklin Sunburst
that I immediately flushed out as you advise and then filled with my
favorite Penquin Blue. It is a remarkable pen; the orange resin much more
complex and lovely than the pictures show. And when I started writing I
enjoyed the heft of the pen, the way it feels in the hand. But I was a
little unprepared for how smoothly and easily the nib glides over the
surface of the paper. So I think I'll stick with it for a while as I start
another article. And let me say again how much I appreciate the care with
which you reply to these orders and the confidence we have that you check
the nibs etc. Now let's hope my wife goes to another concert soon."

"Norman, thanks for the HisNibs newsletter. My Conklin Yellowstone drives
like a Bentley Flying Spur--smooth ride, easy on the corners, and looks good
parked at STARBUCKS. Less expensive, too, and better mileage. I told my
friend, Joe, that the Yellowstone looks like a psychedelic poster from
Haight-Ashbury in the 60s. Looks as cool as it drives. Thanks for the care
you take in prepping the nibs and for your quick response and delivery. I'm
a HisNibs and Conklin fan now."

"Norman, order received. The All American writes smoothly and is a
pleasure to hold."
