A Fist Full of Pens

While some people glued themselves to a chair and tried pens, the rest of us ate.

Nivardo bought some fresh crickets from the Mexican Market. They were not bad. They had a bit of bite from some chili powder and acid from the lime juice. I can't say they were the most popular food item. They do go well with beer.

The main course were build your own tacos. Nivardo made some lengua (beef tongue). Quite Yummy.

Very cool. I would love to get together for a day like that. I'll have to try to get down to one of those Chicago ones or else get them to come up here to Milwaukee Thanks so much for sharing!

Now that's what I call a real "event." I'd love to get out to meet Teri and the gang, but alas it would be a coast-to-coast trip, which is not in the cards this year. I'd also love to browse Teri's stock in person, but I'll have to make do with her web site and the Post Office.

Lowjax - I wrote a note in the "Chicago" thread that I could be convinced to run up to Milwaukee (Daly's?), maybe in July. I just can't pick dates yet until I know more about some family obligations coming up (my first grandchild is due in a few weeks). While I'd love to get up to Appleton to visit the Andersons, that's a more adventurous trip. Milwaukee is a simple one for me - we're up there a few times a year just for fun (and for Bar B Que at Saz's). Let's keep the comm channels open. . .
