Hey, I was just wondering which was more preferred, the medium nib or the fine nib in the Pilot Metropolitan. The medium is darker and richer, but the fine might not bleed as much? Just want some feedback. Thanks :).

It's entirely a matter of taste. The "fine" in a Japanese pem is really fine. My Pilot Metro in fine is very useful for things like checkbooks, where I want to write small and prefer the ink to dry quickly. For everyday writing, it's too fine for me.

I really hate to say it again, but fpgouvea is right. It all depends on what you like.

My wife actually has one of each. Do you own a pen or prefer a typical manufactures nib size. If you give me some point if reference I can do a side by side writing example for you :)

As an addition, both write very nicely, so either way you win :)

My choice of F or M or B or whatever, depends on what I am writing, what I am writing on, and how much space I have to write.
- When I have lots of space, I will pull out a CI nib or a M/B nib.
- When I am filing in a form with small boxes, out comes the XF nib.
- Wide ruled paper, F or M.
- Narrow ruled paper, F
- Writing on the calendar, F
