KI, nice atmospheric photo, conjures up the romance of antique letter writing.
Interesting the way J Herbin have thin walls in the top corners of that bottle.

They must have oddly coloured oceans in Europe?

How to you like the Blue Ocean ink ?

Thanks Bogon.

I would not say the color is disappointing but it is a purple leaning blue. A color I am not crazy about. I think Pelikan Royal Blue is brighter than 1670JHBO as well as Aurora Blue. It is a well behaved ink. Worked well on Moleskine paper and plain jane inkjet/copy paper. It shades a bit on Rhodia paper, especially on the upstroke but it may be the slightly anemic feed on the TWSBI 1.1 stub. It did shade more than I was expecting based on the Goulet's video. Would I buy it again? Probably not, purely based on the shade of blue that it is.

It doesn't do anything for me. A major come down after the spectacular Rouge Hematite.

Great photo, KI. I was all set to elbow my way through the crowds at Gouletpen last week (metaphorically speaking), but Brian showed a swab of the ink being very close to Diamine Sargasso Sea, a color I have already. So I decided to wait and just get some samples. I'll probably still get it because I love that bottle.

I have to say, I don't usually care what the bottle looks like but this was a big draw for me.

Maaannnn... You should sell posters of that shot!

I would buy the ink just for the bottle. Maybe.
