These don't have boxes, cartridges, or converters unless noted.

By the way that medium-ish nib how much pressure would you say was required for the line variation in the writing sample?

Pressure, not too much, maybe a medium amount. Is there a way to measure?

:P That picture certainly balances it out a little, but I think next to the watermans makes it seem more monumental.

There was an 'old timer' trick mentioned else where on the forums. The idea was if you pressed the nib to your thumbnail, and if the tipping spread before that area of your thumbnail turned white then it's semi-flex or flex, but if it only spread a little after it turned white then it's either springy or not meant to be pressed at all (springy being shortly after it turned white rather than after some more pressing).

It's really hard to quantify what one person's "medium press" is to another's. But basically with the thumbnail trick, you don't need much press at all to turn that spot a little white.

Thumbnail trick doesn't work so well with ink in the pen!
