Two separate orders recently (one Father's Day gift and one via monthly budget) will see two new pens in my collection soon. Both have soft nibs, at least in name. The first is a Pilot Custom Heritage 91 Black Resin (Soft Medium). The other is a Platinum Century 3776 Black Resin (Soft Fine). They will be used primarily for drawing and sketching in addition to other yoeman tasks. The thought was that with the Platinum nib (supposedly running on the thin side of standard) in fine...and the Pilot (running generally on the standard) in medium...I would have an effective variation in line width covered. Disclaimer: I know that the soft aspect of these nibs does not indicate any ability to 'flex' and thereby produce variations in line width...but does indicate a certain 'spring' providing an improved level of comfort during use. Note: I think next I'd like to pick up a Pilot with the FA (Falcon) nib...just for fun.
