This week I had to build up stock of ebonite pen blanks for lacquering. Its a dirty and dusty business.
I thought to show some pictures.

Next will be a susutake pen, a pen made from Bamboo.

Very nice I have some black bamboo in my garden it is no where near big enough to make a pen from
I have been looking at your web site today I need to reshuffle my dream pens I like the Raden pen.

Bamboo is difficult to work with. In Japan they cut the bamboo in December to make sure no beetles and worms will be in the material and the oil content is small in winter.
The Raden is a very time consuming work. 40 layers of lacquer alt least.
