Recently I've become interested in fountain pen collaborations. Collaborations meaning one brand and another brand/designer/etc partner together to produce a custom, mostly LE pen. So what I really want to know is what the community thinks are the best fountain pen collaborations.

What are some of your favorite fountain pen collaborations?

One Manufacturer/Designer collaboration I really like is the Lamy Dialog series - almost got me to buy a rollerball and a BP - but I guess I'll leave it at the Dialog 3. Then, of course, Lamy collaborated with a lot of famous industrial designers over the years without always pointing that out as a 'dialog'.
The only other pens of that nature that I'm currently aware of are the various Pininfarina collaborations (such as the Visconti) which are notable for their design approach, but stylistically not my cup of tea.
On the other hand, Andy Lambrou is well known for his renditions of 'Classic Pens'. These have never interested me - if I wanted a classic, I'd get just that - the original!

Brian Gray of Edison Pens and Ernest Shin of Hakumin Urushi did a few limited edition urushi pen projects. I loved those.

Someday, maybe fate will shine on me and I'll be able to pick one up secondhand. Or they'll do another round.

The Nibsmith, Dan Smith & Lambrou pens

The new LB6 Virtues Pens is a collection from Lambrou Pens (formerly Classic Pens, Inc.) that I’m really excited about! For one, I absolutely adore the Flame Red acrylic and, two, I had a bit of hand in creating the collection.
While I was at the 2015 LA Pen Show I approached Andy Lambrou about creating a one-off pen based on their Mythos and made from the Flame Red acrylic. The Mythos model is their largest pen with somewhat of a square-ish design. It feels great in my hand and the oversize #8 nib looks fantastic.

Some of the Rebecca Moss (Sam Zagoory) LEs from Visconti or Omas.

Marcello Nizzoli and Aurora (http://www.aurorapen.it/english/maestria.php?lang=english&subpage_id=52).
Gerd Muller and Lamy (http://www.lamy.com/content/the_company/design/product_designers/index_eng.html).

Marc Newson and Montblanc? We'll have to wait and see.

I wouldn't necessarily call this a collaboration. I had an idea for a single pen and Andy expanded on the idea to turn it into a collection made up multiple colors with two body styles. At no point was it a joint venture to create a new collection. I apologize if my post was unclear or misleading.

Sure, here is a link (http://edisonpen.com/urushi-line-main-page) that shows the three Edison urushi pens. You can click on any of the individual pens to see more information.

Ernest Shin has his own website (http://www.hakuminurushi.com/about/) that shows more of his work. He still makes individual urushi pens, Edison and others.

Thank you, LauraN, for your answer.

I must say I very much understanbd your wanting one of these pens.

The motive, at Edison's, is beautiful!!!! I must confess, however, I liked it better in blue.

I like it in blue, too! So funny.

The Pearl is probably my favorite. You know, if you're looking on my behalf. :)

I like my Kaweco Sport-Visconti collaboration. A piston filler sport and Visconti Michelangelo acrylic.

The website seems very out of date?
