The range of decorated & personalised converters now is amazing, especially in Japan. I saw one decorated with seahorses that cost more than most of my pens! There are at least three on my "aspire-to" list. Yours is a very nice variant.

Do you need to feed them? Going to fill it with that sea ink? ;)

What a fab idea! Either the Omaezaki Sea or Caran D'Ache Caribbeab Sea. Wouldn't they look great? :-)

Very Beautiful.

But do you still see what is inside with a dark ink?

Nakaya has offered these converters for a while now. See this page at Classic Fountain Pens (http://www.nibs.com/Nakaya-Converters.html).

I have J Herbin "Stormy Grey" ink in the converter in the pen at the moment; the fish contrast nicely with the dark background and are easy to see.

You can actually see the particles of "gold" in the Stormy Grey ink floating in the "aquarium" :-)

I was thinking along the lines of J. Herbin Ocean Spray or Irushizuku Kon Peki (Deep Cerulean Blue) :-)

I absolutely love that. I wonder if it would fit in a lowly Preppy?

Hi ThirdeYe,
This is just a Platinum converter with Maki-e painting on it. I haven't used it in a Preppie but others say that it works fine; see second comment in the link below:
