Options for shipping to Canada from US

Hi all! I just got back from being mugged at the US Post Office, and I'm looking for new options. It cost me $14 to ship an 8" x 8" box with 2 small pen cases to Canada. By the time I factor in the cost of the box, travel to the post office, and postage, I'm pretty sure I lost money on the deal. Are there any cheaper options for shipment of small items from the US to Canada (or any place else, for that matter), or do I just start excluding buyers from outside the CONUS? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hello!

The USPS did have a dramatic price increase in regards to shipping outside the US in the past year. It has caused many people outside the US to stop buying from US dealers/vendors. Your best bet is to let foreign buyers know ahead of time that you need to check with the P.O. as far as shipping costs are concerned.
