Sorry for bothering again but just finished this Kiseru type fountain pen with an urushi finish called "bekkô-nuri" imitating tortoise-shell. I didn't got the tortoise shell touch fully but still quite nice.

Best regards,

Martin

On the contrary, we greatly appreciate your "bothering" us. [emoji4]

I seldom find it a burden to look at another wonderful pen.

I think that's one of the most beautiful pens I've ever seen, If my lotto numbers come up tonight I will be in touch!

I only wish all "bothers" were so pleasant.

Look at the pen and look again at the wallet. A big sigh..

It looks like tortoise shell to me. It is not my favourite style but the finish is fantastic.

That's rather sweet. I actually think it's a lot closer to real tortoiseshell than the "tortoise" that Pelikan produces :-)

(Not that there's anything wrong with Pelikan's tortoiseshells, which I think are lovely. Just if I saw a tortoise dressed in thin brown stripes, I'd think I was hallucinating... or someone had a very odd way of ID'ing their pet tortoise.)

Threre are many different types and colors of tortoiseshell. The real material is available only as thin sheets glued/fused/melted together by heat.
So it is uncommon to find large objects like such a pen made from tortoiseshell
