So this pen arrived yesterday from CFP and, as of now, I'm smitten with it. It's looks like it'd be really heavy, but because of it's just ebonite/urushi and eyedropper with shut-off as the filling system, it has no heavy internal components. The wide grip is nice and allows you to write with great comfort. I'll do a full review with better pics from a dSLR in a few weeks but here's some quick photos taken with my iPad.

Compared with a Nakaya Piccolo. For those who own a Nakaya Long, the Mikado seems to be the same length as the Long but much wider in barrel, cap, section diameter.

The nibs of both pens compared. The nib is a Bock-made #8, about MB 149-sized. It should be similar to the nib on the OS Delta pens and the Conid Kingsize Bulkfiller, among others. It's quite soft, but isn't as responsive as a vintage flex nib would be.

Writing sample with Sailor Yama-dori. Very, very wet - which is how I asked John Mottishaw to tune the nib, so I'm thrilled with it. It's on the broad side of fine, maybe close to medium, which is perfect for my handwriting. I''ll have to play with the blind cap setting to see how much to open it for my preferred flow.

Here's a diagram of a round-top Mikado that Danitrio made to show how the eyedropper filling system works.
