So I snatched up a Van Gogh on ebay today, haven't bought a pen in ages but this one was just so pretty. 14k M nib, and very transparent amber plastic. It is certainly a Van Gogh, labeled right on the cap band. The seller is calling it a "Pollard Willows" but the pics don't look like Willows to me, Willows is far less transparent and full of green and red colors. This one doesn't match the pics I've seen online at *all,* anyone want to hazard a guess to what it is? (Maybe it is Willows and I am just confused!) So while I wait for it to arrive...

What is this pen? (http://www.ebay.com/itm/252102792399?_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT) (hope the link works!)

Looks perhaps similar to the Tortoise material on the VG Midi I posted some photos of in the Pen acquisition thread? That is certainly very transparent material but doesn't have the same white streaks as yours. But the vegetal resin they use is extremely variable.
You commented about liking it a little while back. Post #2631 http://fpgeeks.com/forum/showthread.php/2378-What-is-your-latest-pen-acquisition/page66

I have the same pen. I bought it off FPN and was told the color was tortoise and that it was an older model Visconti. Mine has a wonderful springy nib.

Yeah, and thought exactly of your pen when I saw these pics. I really sorta hope it IS a tortoise. ;)

Since CrazyOrange also seems to think that way my fingers are crossed!

It is definitely not a VanGogh Expressions Pollard Willows - they are the newer style faceted body and have magnetic caps rather than screw caps.

As Migo & Crazy Orange say it is an older style VanGogh Tortoise Maxi.

I have several examples of both the old and new Van Gogh's and while they're all nice, I have to concur with Tracy Lee's assessment that the older ones are the better version. You'll love your new acquisition tandaina - congratulations.

It has arrived and it is most definitely a tortoise! Yay! :)

The poor seller is obviously not a FP person. He thought it had an "empty cartridge" installed, no, that was the converter that had an entire fill of what looks like Visconti black dried out inside it. 20 minutes of flushing hadn't gotten the poor thing clear so the converter and nib unit are now soaking.
