Hi Everybody!

Another month has passed and you all have helped to raise over $450 (after paypal fees) to go towards the Newton Pens Scholarships! Thanks so much! That means we have raised right around $1750 so far.

We just drew a name from the hat (random.org), and #5 was selected. That means Garrett O. is getting a free custom pen as thanks for helping to support the scholarships, and the students.

I also have been able to meet with some kids and art teachers at a couple of the local schools and have new art for new postcards. I’ve already put the order in and should have the cards in a couple of weeks.

Here’s what we chose for the new cards. We’ll be getting 50 of each, but if any images are more popular, I can always reorder.

The cards will still be sold in packs of 5 for $10, shipped worldwide. There are only a few of the old set left, and once those are gone you’ll get one of the new sets.

I also have a new email address that makes more sense – NewtonPensScholarships@gmail.com
You can still use the old email address for now, but everything will be answered from this new email address starting today.

And since this is a new month…

During the entire month of October, if you donate or buy a pack of student art postcards you’ll automatically be entered to win a pen. When you purchase a set of cards or donate I’ll give you a number. Every penny raised will go towards the scholarships and support students going to college. Yes, you can buy as many postcard packs as you want, and for each pack, you’ll get a number.

The drawings are open for all to enter, from all parts of the world. No restrictions at all.

The raffle itself is free. If you want to enter the raffle without supporting the scholarship or helping graduating seniors (or getting any of those cool postcards) then all you have to do is send a note in the mail to:

Shawn Newton
PO Box 6084
Hot Springs, Ar. 71902

You have to let me know in your note that you’re entering the raffle, and you have to include an email address that I can reach you at.

Everybody who enters will be given a number in the order of postcards purchased or letters received in the mail, and at the end of the month I’ll draw a number to pick the winner of a custom pen. I use random.org as a number picker.

Raffle pens are limited to c/c filling system, steel nib of any size with any grind you want. If you want any extra customizations, bands or rings, special filling system, gold nib, or anything else, there will be normal charges.

I will announce income for October and the winner of the custom pen on the last day of the month.

If you have any questions please ask – shawn@newtonpens.com

And if you haven’t seen yet, I’m doing a lot more Pelikan bindes these days. I’m only working with the M800 and M1000 pens. The piston units are easy to remove and they’re easy to work with. I won’t work with the smaller pens with the press fit piston units, or the older models. I don’t need that kind of stress in my life. :)

But you can see prices and pictures here. When visiting my site, click on “The Pens”, then go down to “Pelikan Modifications”.

Hi everybody, with Halloween and friend and family around we haven't had time to draw a name but will do so tomorrow night hopefully, and then kick off November with a sort of treat.

Thanks for all your support!
