I am a complete newbie and quite enjoying the rabbit hole that fountain pens and ink opens up. I never thought I would have much interest in trying many inks, but find my desk rapidly collecting sample vials from both Anderson Pens and Goulet. My preference runs toward blue-blacks. I love the blue-black ink that is found in Pilot Juice gel pens and would like to find something to match it in fountain pen ink. I have tried more than 10 blue-black samples so far, but haven't found anything that quite matches it. Does anyone have a recommendation as to an ink I should try?

Pilot Blue Black ink matches it quite well. I run 0.38 Juice refills in my Tactile Turn pens and Pilot Blue Black ink in a VP with an EF nib for my every day carry pens.

Thanks mtnbiker62. I was wondering about the Pilot Blue-Black. Makes sense. Does it only come in cartridge form or does it come bottled as well? I haven't seen it in bottled form on the sites I where I usually shop.

I've never seen it in cartridges, only in bottles. It is a bit "bluer" than the Juice refills, depending on the paper, but it is close.

Hi. Fountain pen newbie here too. I came across a website called Engeika and Pilot Blue Black is being offered there in cartridges and bottles of 30ml, 70ml and a massive 350ml. They have very good prices too.
