I got my pilot prera fine-nib only two days ago. I dropped it today - arghh.

I loved the superfine yet very smooth nib, but now it scratches like a flea-ridden cat :(

The ink flow is fine.

Is there anything I can do to get it gliding again? I'm new to fountain pens, so have no idea about the options. Can I buy a new nib? Or maybe some very fine abrasion?

Most likely the tines are out of alignment if there no obvious bends. You will need magnification to get them aligned again.

Here are the basics: http://kcavers.blogspot.com/2012/09/basic-fountain-pen-nib-adjustment-101.html

It's fine again now, alignment was knocked out. Thanks once again.

Pilot plumix is the same nib. I just had the same problem. Bought the plumix for 7 bucks. Switched the nibs. All set.
