A few weeks ago a friend and fellow pen geek told me the Homo Sapiens was made from volcanic rock. This piqued my interest. As part of my job (automotive testing) we use tiles made from volcanic / basalt rock. Apply water and they get slippery and simulate the approximate friction between a tire and snow. I found myself lusting after a pen made from the same material. While my wallet is upset with me for an impulse purchase I'm so very happy I did it. This pen has a very subtle beauty to it. It's not shiny and flashy, but when you hold it and write with it the feeling is wonderful. The touch and feel of the basalt is like nothing else. The weight and size of the midi is quite perfect. It's definitely heavier than my other pens, but not like holding onto a brick. And the nib...wow! It's fantastically smooth and the slightest bit springy. Dreamtouch is an appropriate name. I could sell most of my other pens and be happy for life.

Oh my God, I so want one now! I always thought that Homo Sapiens was a nice design, but I had no idea it's made from basalt! Now I don't know which Visconti I want more, Homo Sapiens or Van Gogh...
