And needless to say, it's freaking awesome! I thought the M800 was a large pen until I wrapped my hands around that M1000. I just wish it came more colorful varieties like the M80X's.

The nib is so much fun. It's pretty juicy and the times are soft so it's easy to get a little line variation if you want. I think I will be on the lookout for a fine nib to see how well this pen performs as a daily writer. The only downside to that is that I'm afraid if I get a fine nib for it the M805 will no longer be needed. :-(

Nice, ain't they. I have a 1050 that hasn't been out to play in ages. Maybe I need to let it go out and play for awhile.

Oooo, a 1050? Those are gorgeous! That'd be my choice if price wasn't an option. This one was pretty cheap so I couldn't pass on it.

Let me know when you are trading up from this one I am in the market for a M1000 with a 3B nib... :) I like dannzeman castoffs, the TWSBI micarta and M600 White Tortoise are going well...

Nice Dan! I remember the first time I held an M1000 at fountain pen hospital in NY...I put it up to my m400 and my jaw dropped!

Thanks guys. I'm really enjoying it. That nib is just too much! (almost)

So, Dan, now you know why they say the M1000 is 'different'. I agree with you on the colours, though, a blue one (stripes or solid, does not matter) with white metal furniture would be very, very tempting. Enjoy this one for a long time to come.
In the next few weeks my new 3B nib should arrive to revive my black M1000 a little bit.

Cheers,
Peter
