I've been eyeing a Sheaffer Heritage in all silver or the black with gold trim. But am curious how it holds up in day to day use? Does it scratch easily?
Any help would be appreciated!

I can't answer your question......but if you are concerned about long term use.....Franklin Christoph got excess stock of shaeffer nibs and caps. They use unusual colored acrylics to make the barrels and the look is stunning. I wish I had taken a pic at the Philly show, they had a wonderful selection. I do know earthdawn has one with an orange crush acrylic and posted pics in the new pen thread. Check it out.

The silver Heritage is Sterling silver. Silver is softer than many other metals and so over time does develop micro-scratches that enhance the beauty. What you seem to be calling silver is the Palladium finish with chrome accents. As long as you don't do silly stuff like keep that pen in your pants pocket with your keys and coins all should be fine.

The fantasy Legacies mentioned above are bodies by Jim Rouse.

I do love the Legacy family of pens and have quite a few of them, several in Sterling silver as well as an earlier Black with Palladium cap.
