Hello,

I am trying to identify this particular Mont Blanc Fountain Pen model. My father purchased it in 1994 from a Duty Free Shop so its authenticity is not in question. Thanks in advance for any help.

Looks to me like a 149. The number should be on the gold cap band.

Yes, proportions look more 149 than 146 but the numbers will tell the tale. Can you post the capped length?

That's the serial number and tells us only that it was made after 1992. Look on the wide cap band and see if there is a number or post the closed length of the pen.

Jar may be correct. Not an expert here but I do have my 149 in hand right now. The length of the nib, the barrel and cap proportion seems to make it a 149.

The band on the cap should have a 3-digit engraving (149, 146, etc.)

Either way, it's a great pen to have.

I agree that it's either a Mesiterstuck 146 or a 149. It might say on the large middle cap band. If not it will have to be decided on the measurements.

It looks more like a 149 because of the large nib

My first though it 149 only because of the proportion of diameter to length. I don't believe the 149 is significantly longer than a 146, but it is noticeably larger in diameter.
