An old Koh-I-Noor ArtPen found in an Estate Sale.
The nib was total black (India ink?), 24 hours of water soften the layer enough for me to swab it off, uncovering the shiny nib.

Ink: Diamine Damson

Anyone know if the nib is gold? It flexes mercilessly.

Wow, that's a beauty! Fantastic nib and a lovely vibrant yellow barrel.

By the way, does anyone know what was the relationship between Koh-i-Noor and Rotring? They seem to have used some of the same models (not this one, despite the name 'Art Pen', AFAIK).

I don't know if they are ever related, KIN is a Czech company, rOtring is a German company.

Ah yes, KIN was part of Hardtmuthm wasn't it? But according to Wikipedia (I know, I know) KIN is also the US subsidiary of Rotring: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rotring#History

I'm guessing there might have been a relationship along the lines of Parker/Osmia?
