I think Sheaffer's striped celluloids are their best looking materials. This green striped celluloid looks amazing with the gold trimmed, brushed stainless caps.
The pen cap has one small ding in the side and the pencil has no eraser. Otherwise, this set is without blemish. I've buffed and polished the barrels to a glassy finish. The barrel is ambered but has good transparency. The filling mechanism and ink level are quite clearly visible. I've refurbished the filling system with modern materials that will last for decades. The pen writes a wet line that is as smooth as you could wish. The pencil works and has lead.
The set includes an original clamshell box with an interesting seal inside from A.B. Bixler, jeweler, Easton, PA.
