+1 on the Wow.

When you say 'sterling' is it always referring to silver? Does silver has Karat measure like gold does?

Thanks!

There's fine silver which is purer, and then sterling, which has a bit more copper and something else in it.

Shawn, that is not just a beautiful piece, but another big step forward in your work! Just a tiny thing, since you are going to be showing the pen: I believe the bird is spelled heron, with one "r".

Yup, silver has proof numbers just like all precious metals. Sterling silver is 925 just as 14K gold is 585 and 18K is 750. The numbers represent the percentage of the precious metal while the carat numbers are in 24th (24K = 100%). Sterling silver is 92.5% silver.

You could be the lucky buyer. It's not sold yet. I'm planning to take it to the Arkansas show. :)

Umm, so what does a pen like that cost Shawn? Herons are sort of a totem animal in my life...

Asking $900-1010 steel/gold nib.

The heron is breathtaking! Was the heron and the reeds your design as well? Regardless, congrats on a gorgeous piece of art!

Absolutely stunning. I'm not sure I've seen the BSea acrylic used for the body. Have you used it in other pens? Have any other pics of that material?
