Anyone super-excited about this one?

Well, I am - the 120/140 series has been one of my old-time favorites ever since I inherited my great-uncle Fritz's 140!

Indeed. For me and many of my generation in Germany this and its green-striped cousin were the epitome of a pen that 'works for a living'. Small, humble, and utterly functional, it is also beautiful without any adornments. I hope they will also recreate the 140 based on this same body.

Since I'm not a fan of green, no. Afraid not. If it were some pretty color or pattern on the barrel I would grab one, but it's just not to my taste. (I owned one of hte original 120s and sold it, just found it deathly boring)

170 euros, Ouch. I like that it is back but I'll stick to my vintage ones.

You're right on the price - if you look at other Pelikan prices, the €170 ticket will probably translate into a $250-270 price tag here... but, like you, I like to see these pens to be available again. I also have some vintage 14k nibs to put in one of those, so I might still jump on one! :)

Will these nibs be gold plated steel?

Yes they will be - but in all probability any M4xx nib should fit.

Actually I was hoping they were going to bring a turquoise M200 to match the new ink coming out this month. Well, this one will do alright.

The good news is that they (usually) just switch the sign of the currency for the US market, so that means it should (only?) list for $170 in the US. That depends on supply and demand of course.

Yes. Hard to imagine that someone will spend 170 euros/$ on a replica of a pen which still can be found on ebay for 50 euros/$ in mint condition. Just my opinion...
And not to forget that the vintage piston mechanism is much better built than moderns...

Not really so - M400 €295.-/US$ 372.-; M200 €95.-/US$ 125.- - 144.- from reputable dealers.

+1 And the vintage nibs are probably better too.
