This was still born out of the gate:

1. The seller mistakenly listed it as a Sheaffer Balance on Ebay.
2. It was leaking when I first tried it and I had to get it repaired.

Still in the end now it has become a daily writer.

Very hard to see your pen but it sure does look like a Crest not a Valiant.

That sure does look like a later Triumph nib Crest. Is the cap gold?

You got a deal! The Crest was the top of the line pen and quite expensive in its day. It is (IMO) every bit the equal to the PFM. It was (esp. the oversized ones, often hard to find and sometimes with the 1750 price code on them) the PFM before the PFM was the PFM. Ha! They were the last of the large pens before the company went bonkers making everything thinner and thinner.

Folks with better Sheaffer chops and better eyes should chime in...
