Pre 1997 Montblanc 146

A more than 15 year old Montblanc 146 but still in great shape. The pen was lovingly used.

Pen is in Malaysia. Not sure about that or got something against doing overseas business kindly move on !

Have a look at the pictures for yourself. The pen has been well taken care of and has only minor micro scratches on the body.

1) Pre 1997 Montblanc 146 - No "Pix" on clip
2) Nib - Medium
3) Dual Tone Nib

Old style numbers look like the numbers on a bank check or late 70s sci-fi numbers (like you see on the Parker 25 boxes). I have no idea what that boxy font is called. Monty White used those numbers for only a few years and then they switched the typeface to the style they use now which is more style neutral Helvetica/Arial-esque. I think they did that in 1995? and then they only started with the serial numbers in 1991?

So, if you have a serial number on your Monty that looks like a bank check it is likely early 1990s, I THINK. (/possibly_wrong). I am not an expert. Someone smarter than me can chime in pls.

I have exactly one MB pen. It is just like that one. Old style number. 2-tone nib. I have to begrudgingly admit it is a wicked great pen. I love it. If I had the $ I would buy this one and give it a sibling.

I am pretty sure MB only used such numbers a short while.

The only thing that I am quite sure of is that this pen is from pre-1997 era since there is no "Pix" embossed under the clip. Still I am not expert. I just know that the pen writes very well for its age.
