I went on a buying spree of pens with interesting nibs to figure out what I liked. Turns out I'm an oblique or architect's point fan so I'm putting the pens that won't make it to the top of the rotation back into the wild.

This is a nice Lamy 2000 that started life with a Medium nib that's now been ground by Pendleton Brown into his "Butter-line Smooth" Stub-Italic. The line variation on this one is more subtle than on the Pelikan M605 Med that I have listed which actually made it quite an interesting writer. I'm assuming the regular Med on the Lamy is probably thinner than a Pelikan Med. I can't see any flaws on this pen and it's in great shape. Unfortunately, there is no box or papers with this pen.

I'm asking USD$140 shipped from Toronto, Canada. I might be interested in trading for another Lamy 2000 with a Broad nib as I quite like the pen, the nib just doesn't suit my writing style.

Thanks for looking.

I am fairly new to fountain pens and have been considering the lamy 2000 as my first over $100 pen. How would you describe the way this pen writes as compared to a lamy 1.1. I do have the lamy al-star with a 1.1 nib but am thinking something a little narrower may be better for me. And the main question, is this pen still available?

Thanks!

Pen is still available. I've never used a Lamy 1.1 but have used other 1.1 stubs and this is much thinner. Probably about half as wide. The pen is in my office but I can do a line comparison with a few other stubs I have on Monday if you'd like.

I am interested in purchasing this pen. I am also trying to learn what I really like with different nibs. Please send me a PM.

I already have a Lamy 2000 (F), which I really like (so I am not interested in another). But I really like this nib modification.
