E. Faber Dip Pen & Pencil Combo

Might anyone have any information on this dip pen/pencil combo I received today? I have seen a few like it today through Google images with black and brass metal bodies but this one is covered with leather which has a flourish design etched into it along the seam with the abbreviation "Mich." at the end.23334

I would think Mich. is short for Michigan. Possibly there is other writing that has been obliterated by time?

Im pretty sure it is for Michigan. There is a word before it but I can't make it all out. It seems to start with a W and end with an N. Perhapps Warren. Im just curious if there was an actual leather covered production model or if this is a repair job that the owner decorated.
