Hi again all,
I've now got 2 vintage (550A Colleg & Durchschreiber 104D) Kaweco pens. I need to remove the nibs for cleaning/lubricating but have upto now been unable to do so. I've tried soaking and soaking and even soaking to no effect. I have not taken the heat gun to it out of an abundance of caution.
Is there anyone here who has experience removing these nibs??? Are they shellaced in place?? Is heat necessary? Are there any pen meisters out there who can make short work of them?
The 104's piston appeared good when I received it, but after multiple flush sessions (lots of red ink in the window still) it appears the piston is kaput....no suction anymore, so I'm assuming I might need to have that replaced.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
James
