The Aurora Afrika Limited Edition is often thought to be the best looking piece of Aurora’s Continent series of pens. It is based on the Optima model and features an amber and black swirled celluloid pattern which is slightly different on each pen, making each unique. Tribal shields on a black field encircle the cap, the clip bears a map of Africa and the cap jewel is ebony.

The pen is piston filled with an ink capacity in excess of 1 ml. A clear ink window allows the user to determine when ink level is low. The 18k gold nib is a Medium.

The pen measures approximately 5 inches capped and 6 1/8 inches posted. It has been very lightly used, and is complete with boxes, booklet, and unopened bottle of ink.

Had another one eh? :D

The one I have [#1,765] currently is from him, wonderfully comfortable, on the light side due to the celluloid, the grip is real nice to hold with that matted finish, a larger grip than a Pelikan M800 but with similar size nibs, nibs run firm but write instantly on touch (mine is also marked M), clips very well into a shirt pocket, piston is a tiny bit firmer than Pelikan but operates very well, not difficult to flush either.

There's also a "feature" Aurora built in (just like the optima), that if you run out of ink, you can twist the piston knob all the way to get at least another page worth out of it (the extended piston knob also acting as a reminder that you need to refill when you get home).

It's not the same pen but if you care for more eye candy about the Afrika these are my shots (as he says, because of the celluloid each pen is going to have a different pattern) : http://imgur.com/a/7EHLZ

Thanks for the nice comments Karl. I'm glad you are enjoying the Afrika you got from me.

This one that I am now selling is number 2888 and the 18k Medium nib writes beautifully. That's lots of 8's for those who consider it a lucky number! :-)

How many times has this been inked?

Only inked two or three times.

By the way, I can switch the M nib for a B nib from a different Optima if anyone prefers that.
