If anyone is considering trying a gold nib on a TWSBI then I heartily recommend Fountain Pen Nibs in Cadiz, Spain. I've just put their 18k nib (an EF), made for the Eco, onto one of mine & it's amazing. It looks fabulous - a clean design with no fancy swirly scrollwork & it provides a lovely soft, springy writing experience. I'm really impressed, and the service from Esther there was first rate.

They also sell nibs for other TWSBIs in various finishes e.g. the 580, Vac 700 etc.

Here's their pic of the Eco nib.

100% agree. Also if you need #5, #6 or #8 JoWo nib units that fit Edison, Franklin-Christoph, Newton, Carolina Pen Company or Ken Cavers pens, they have the best prices I've found yet. Lots of plating options from single tone gold, rhodium and ruthenium to two tone combinations in 14k and 18k as well as some semi flex 14k nibs and nibs from EF to BB and OBB and tipped stubs. Cheap shipping and fantastic service. Can't recommend these guys enough.

That EF nib seems to write rather wide.

Looks awesome! I may need to get a TWSBI ECO with gold nib to use for iron gall inks.

I just ordered a JoWo #8 nib in medium from FPNibs.com for my Newton Orville. Shipping was kinda pricey for insured, express shipping. Still it was cheaper than it would have been buying an 18kt JoWo #8 nib from a US seller.

I've done this too. Got a Fine gold nib to replace the Fine on my Eco. It's a very wide fine, though. Pretty much the same line width as the TWSBI medium nib.

Thank you so much for this information. I'm about to receive my twsbi eco and I want to try more nibs with it. Do you know if I can get some nibs from gouletpens?

Regards, dear geeks.
