Golden Brown late 1930s Sheaffer Balances. . A bit of a special cluster, I suspect no image integrating this bunch ever has been offered before (I know. I know... "who cares?").

All four are standard diameter pens. Caps for 1, 2 and 4 are same length (short standard)

From L to R:

"Stubby". Scarce pen, the short-standard
Off-catalogue "Semi-Stubby", with short-standard cap but with barrel in between the usual stubby length and the usual long-standard length. You might be able to guess why this was made.
Typical long-standard, the pen that would become Statesman in 1938 and finally,
"Semi-Stubby" with reverse White Dot (normal clip on other side of pen). You might be able to guess about this one as well.

Sheaffer's Balance offered a huge range of variants throughout the 1930s, allowing collectors to find some funky stuff.
