Long a premier fountain pen company, Delta pen prices have also been rather 'premier' -- in large part due to the fact that most models have been limited editions. Now, Delta is making a real push to broaden their line to create superior pens at a price that the rest of us can afford. I never really thought I'd see a Delta pen that retails for less than $100.00!
In that spirit, Delta has taken a model -- the Unica http://www.hisnibs.com/unica.htm -- which began life as a limited edition pen, and has produced a non-limited-edition version in three beautiful, pearlized colors.

"Crafted in Italy by Delta's skilled artisans, the Unica collection is turned from pearlescent rods of solid Italian resin. Each writing instrument is crafted from unique handmade materials and offered in a choice of three shimmering finishes: Blue, Fuscia and Whte. Accented with highly polished rhodium-plated trim, the Unica Collection is designed to have a slim profile, practical for use with day planners, checkbooks or briefcases...The fountain pen is mounted with a steel nib in a choice of Fine, Medium or Broad and accepts standard international ink cartridges or converter."

Unscrewing the cap reveals a bit of surprise, nib-wise. Rather than present you with a shiny gold or rhodium-plated steel nib, Delta went with a matte-finish steel nib, which I find absolutely gorgeous. Adding to the stunning appearance of the nib is the intricate engraving work which accompanies DELTA and the nib size. Speaking of nib sizes, the pen is available in an F, M or B.
