I am officially part of the Estie-Club!

This little J beauty arrived in the mail today.

Dark green (very beautiful pattern) model J with a 9556 nib.

I'm oddly 'scared' of putting some ink into it :)

I love my Estie. It was an unexpected gift from a college friend who likes to putter around with them.

That's a good looking dark green Estie.
Ink it up, you'll like the 9550 nib.

Dark...
Did the seller say that the pen has a new/replaced sac??
Regardless....sacs are inexpensive (about $2 each) and quite easy to replace....
Meantime....you won't do SERIOUS damage if you ink it up....and find it either leaks or doesn't hold ink...
Estie repair is half the fun (and expectation...) of collecting them!!
My advice....Juice that sucka!! And post a couple of writing samples!! The 9xxx Series nibs are GREAT!!:)

Always try to get the dibs....on fountain pens with EF nibs!!

Yeah, the seller description is as follows:
"This pen has been cleaned, polished, and fitted with a new j-bar (internal spring) and a new, talced sac. It's ready for you to fill with ink and write.
This pen has no nicks, cracks, dings, or bite marks. It is truly a beautiful pen."

So I have no real 'excuse' not to feed it some ink..... :D

My first vintage pen was an Este. Then there was another.
Then an Eclipse.
A Morrison.
A Holland, a Wirt, a Moore…

It’s a very slippery slope.
