Hello,

I have received a mail saying I ought to archive messages, because my inbox if almost full - which is no wonder, seeing that we cannot delet messages, selectively.

Could anyone, please, explaine how to archive the message I would not like to delete?

Thank you in advance for your help.

If you go to the inbox, you should see an area labeled "Folder Control." There is a link to "Empty Folder" but this will delete all messages in the inbox. If you want to keep anything, create a new folder and move them or download the messages as a text file - there's an option for that at the very bottom.

I was able to individually delete "Sent" messages, but I don't see that option for the inbox.

Thank you, Snowbear for responding.

I have created a new folder. The thing is: how to pass the messages into it????? I have deleted all the send messages, they have disapeared from the conversation, too. No arborescence!!!

I have looked all over the message window and I don't see anything that allows you to move things. Very odd.

EDIT: There is some information in the FAQ, but I do not see all of the options listed. I do notice I have 0 messages but I have a "PM Thread." Maybe those are treated differently.

Informatically there are things here that are quite odd.
For exemple, if you press "new posts", you will have some. However, if you go through the index categories, you will see some new posts not listed in the result!!!!

There is undeniably some quirks to the PM system of this forum
To get by, I download all messages that I can download into a CSV format.
What I get is a downloaded file that I can open with a Spreadsheet program (LibreOffice Calc is mine, or MS Excel), which will allow you to peruse the messages in a usable manner.

Then, when you have done that, you can delete all messages without losing the thread of messages that you care about. FYI, the Delete All functionality is also randomly keep some of the message so your inbox is never really empty.

Until the Admins deem it worthwhile to fix this, there is little users like us can do.

I have tried this on my phone and on my MacBook.

I can delete individual messages on my phone, but only new ones. It almost seems like when they get to a certain age they can't be deleted.

On the MacBook, when I 'delete all' in my Inbox, it deletes the messages that I received, even in long PM threads, but leaves the ones I sent, until I delete the sent messages. However, I still have several pages worth of messages that aren't counted because I then have a reset counter. It's certainly weird. I sometimes wonder if it relies on whether the other party in the message has deleted their messages.

Try to see if the ones I have sent you are still in the thread, please (I inadvertly deleted all my sent messages). :(

Yours aren't, but mine are, despite me having deleted sent messages. :(

I have yours, despite you having erased your sent box.
Mine aren't in your inbox, because I have erased my sent box.

I suppose this forum, informatically is in a state of: erratic. Lol
