I see a small variety of mandrels on Pentooling and Penpractice but they never seem to have the mandrel I find myself needing. Does anyone have a lead to someone with a wide variety of mandrels for pens and caps?

Different sources for different mandrels.

Which mandrel in particular are you looking for?

For right now the Parker 51 barrel mandrel.

For right now the Parker 51 barrel mandrel.

The only mandrel I know of for a 51 barrel is only for the very end of the barrel to remove the usual dent. There are several versions depending on who made them. If you just have one to do get a long 1/4" diameter punch and tool a proper shape on the lathe with a file.

If you can make it to a Pen Posse you can borrow one of mine or we can just pop the dent out on the spot.

For a dent in the side burnish it out with a long ball ended burnisher.
