I like the ink, but not the sentiments. :(

I'm voting to stay in. :)

Chrissy, I know... I seem to change my side each day, but I do think we need to make our politicians work rather than letting them collect their pay for just turning up while Europe spoon feeds us our policies (some of which are either too short sighted or great in the long term but hindered due to lack of prerequisite foundations in the present).
Oh, and don't let's get started on migrant workers and economic migrants in general..!

Perhaps I'm just boring. I know Europe is not perfect in it's current form, but I don't think we can afford to leave. Especially if it costs us Wales and Scotland.

This Sheaffer brown looks quite reddish to me. I might try to find a pack of cartridges to try it out.

It is quite reddish, Chrissy, yes - has a certain resemblance with Waterman Havane, but more luminous.
I'll send you a sample, if you can wait.

I have tried Sheaffer Brown. It is in a pen now. I like it, but I like Franklin-Christoph Terra Firma more. It seems I tend to like browns in this color range.

I'm thinking it is actually more of a red than a brown!

Yes, it is what I'd call a reddish brown. For this pen, even the pooled spots where it shades, is just a darker reddish brown. Now the Terra Firma goes from almost a clay color, to reddish brown, to almost black...when it shades. With a Japanese fine, you really cannot tell the two inks apart. But if you use a wider nib, then you see the color changes a bit. Both inks are very nice. I like this color of brown, and then I like the Faber-Castell Hazelnut. I was going to try the Mont Blanc Toffee Brown, but after I ordered samples, they sent an email saying the Toffee Brown was out of stock. (when I ordered it said it was) My friend has an old Sheaffer Brown, vintage. I think it had a number 23 on it. That brown looks NOTHING like this brown at all.

I've always liked the look of both Terra Firma and Toffee Brown, but despite my already having a few different browns in my collection, I would say I'm not really a fan of browns...

You should show this to everyone who wants a 'flex pen.'

Indeed! I try to extol the brush pen's virtues whenever I can, and if I were to be a calligraphy teacher I might insist on my students being able to demonstrate line control with a brush before progressing to other mediums.

... I do think we need to make our politicians work rather than letting them collect their pay for just turning up...

Sounds like the issues with politicians today isn't only in America.
I can't say that that's good to hear... but at least our misery seems to have company :/

And that is an interesting color. I would almost call it a dusty rose or an antique rose. Makes me think of lace and steam and bronze clockwork pieces.

Blimey, yeah; one must wonder about New Yorker's understanding of mass media influence to be so keen on both Clinton and Trump! Then again, what percentage actually voted?

...

Lace, steam, and bronze... nice connotations.

But one can still see the same red in the fine upstrokes!

I have sample of this, Waterman Absolute Brown, Diamine Saddle Brown and Monteverde Brown. I was trying to figure out what brown I wanted to get.

I ended up buying a 80 ml bottle of Diamine Saddle Brown. I just liked it more than the others. Looks like two different inks in a Metropolitan with a medium nib and a TWSBI Eco with a 1.1 stub.
