For your consideration is a Parker 51 set in cordovan brown in the original factory box. The pen is a genuine double jeweled model (no Kullock tassies here!) with a vacumatic filler and a gold cap in the "converging lines" pattern, marked "1/8 14k gold-filled." The pencil sports the same cap, marked "1/10 16k gold filled." Based on the date code near the two-toned clutch ring, this set was manufactured in 1946. The nib is a smooth and consistent F/EF and the filling unit was restored with a new diaphragm just this month. Both pen and pencil are fully functional and ready to write.

Condition: Both pen and pencil are in impeccable condition. The original owner "Charles May," whose name has been professionally engraved on the cap bands, seems not to have gotten much use out of them. I see no dings whatsoever on the caps and no brassing to the caps, clips, or tassies. Deep, fully legible imprint. And no cracks or chips, of course. The grey jewels have retained their original pointed shape – a further indication that this set was well-kept. When I received it I noticed it that the barrels didn't have any of the usual micro-abrasions one finds on pens that have been rolling around in a drawer for decades. So I gave them a light polish just to restore their original luster, disassembled, cleaned, then overhauled the filling unit on the pen (done roughly 30-40 of these). (Note: after looking at the photos, it appears I missed some dirt on the pencil's clip, which I'll clean up to match the clip on the pen before sending it out)

Price: A similar set in cordovan (but with a more common cap and worn clutch ring) ended on eBay recently for >$400. If you were among those who lost out on that one, here's a chance to grab one for significantly less. I was asking $360 NOW $280 (which includes shipping via USPS Priority w/ tracking to anywhere in CONUS - please inquire into shipping costs if you are located elsewhere).

Payment & Guarantee: Pens are placed on hold for the first person to PM me with firm request to purchase. But if I haven't received Paypal payment in 24 hrs, then the pen becomes available to the next person. All my pens are guaranteed to be in the condition in which I've described them. If I've missed something or the filling mechanism is not fully functional, then the buyer may return the pen by contacting me up to 7 days after receiving it. I've only recently gotten back into the hobby to find all these new message boards, but you can find some of my previous sales on the Classifieds and Historical Sales forums on FPN (username: Estragon).
