I think it's okay. It's looked like that from the beginning. I think it's just the way it looks from the lighting and maybe nib grind. I'll do a writing example tomorrow and post it.

I have the same pen in the pocket 20 and it's just lovely.

The Masuyama nibs are amazing. I have a pocket 20 with the needlepoint and an 02 with the medium cursive italic. They're steel nibs but write as well or better than pens I have with gold nibs. This is a $50 savings for this pen. Well worth buying.
