I was offered a Pelikan fountain pen. The pen is approx. 30 years old and never been inked (NOS). The pen is 5 inches long with the cap one. The lenght of the M200 serie if I'm not mistaken.

Is this a M200? a M250?

I already own a classic M215 with a steel nib. This one looks like a gold nib. I already asked the seller for a better picture of the nib.

Never seen a M200 with a gold nib before... but then again, Pelikan is another brand I don't really know that well.

Nib is likely not original.

I believe this to be a M250:

A little Dissension in the Ranks! :fencing:

Judging from a picture taken by Kbeezie and posted on another forum, it looks a lot like a M250.

I definitely could be wrong. Pelikans certainly are not my best subjects.

It's a black Pelikan M250. These have nice nibs on them. Worth picking up if the price is right.

Agreed--the M250 is a great pen from my experience, writing just as well as its m400 brethren from that era (the nibs are the same), but with less flashiness.

Nib is basically useless for doing an ID on a Pelikan because they're so easily swappable. So ignore the nib when trying to ID a Pelikan. Size, and trim are the easiest way to tell them apart.
