Sheaffer Gold Plated Barleycorn Pattern

This eBay Sheaffer is odd in that it has no nib size on the nib. Is this normal? How would I go about finding out what the nib size is? All it says on the nib is .585 which of course refers to the gold content (14 kt.) and not the nib size (as the seller supposed!).

I could if I were in possession of it. It is an eBay item currently at sale. The seller could test it of course if he wanted to do that extra work, which, given my communications with him thus far, appears rather unlikely. But thanks for the reply.
