Has anyone picked up one of these in their travels?

Boy, that would be great to have! I've heard of the V-Mail thing, but this ad is great. Interesting info regarding V-Mail in the middle of this article (http://www.richardspens.com/ref/history/war_and_fp.htm), courtesy of Richard Binder's site.

JBB Pens on Etsy has some original V-Mail forms, if you are interested in trying them.

Oh, I saw them (the only Etsy shop I've bookmarked), but I have two packets of V-Mail already. I wrote one today to a retired army officer in India who collects war-related postage stamps, so I thought it would be a nice bonus. I used a pre-WW2 Sheaffer fountain pen, so it's about as "correct" as I can make it. Originally they were addressed on the outside to the V-Mail processing locations, and addressed to the soldier/sailor on the inside where it would be photographed along with the body of the letter. (The APO address would show through an envelope's window after the image was printed from the film.) However, I just wrote the recipient's address on the outside where the sorting machinery can scan it, and perhaps rip it up a bit.
