View Full Version : Caran d'arche woes

one of my favorite mechanical pencils is my Caran d'ache matte black 844 pencil. But I consider it *pretty* plain. I use it all the time though, it's a staple in my pencil case.

Caran d'ache does GREAT limited edition colours for their ballpoints, I'm in love with all of them. Look at these:

and yet...they never do mechanical pencil LE's. In fact, for their 100 year celebration, they made an le PEN to look like a pencil....but they didn't make a .7mm pencil. I feel like I'm being trolled.
They did make a 2 mm fixpencil for the 100 year...but that isn't really the same, that lead is flippin massive and useless for my kind of sketching. And it didn't even have any colour, it was just black & white.

Why is it pencil collectors get no love? Anyone else frustrated? Don't even get me started on Blackwing and their parade of boring ass colourless limited eds.

I love the pink, orange, and gold one!

I like the plain solid color 849s best of all, especially red. I like classic more than 'zany'
