I have a Pelikan red striped M800 from 1999-2003 (with the 2 chiks in gold on black background) with a fine nib tuned by Dan Smith i'm considering selling to help fund a Conid Bulkfiller. I was wondering if someone had a guess about what a fair price to sell the pen would be.

(Sorry for ink on the nib)

Nice pen. If you ask about 50% of the current MSRP you will likely be in the ballpark.

$285~$310 ish?

That is a nice one. In good shape and some folks might desire the old style finial and the nib has been tuned. If I was looking for an M800 and I fancied the old style and like the red (check & check). I would think $300 shipped would be fair. Looks to be in excellent shape.

Looks well shouldn't have a problem moving it on, a writing sample might help

In my experience (as an observer and as a recent buyer,) the red stripe brings a non-trivial premium over the black, green stripe and blue stripe models. I mention this for purposes of comparisons to completed sales prices.

Yes. You may even be able to get $350 for it due to the Dan Smith tuning and Red striations which both increase aftermarket value.

If you price it at $300, or even $300 + shpping it should move quickly.
