A diamond in the rough for the 51 collectors among us: 1953/4 Parker 51 Signet set in the original factory box. Mint condition, uninked.

Description: Boxed Parker 51 Signet set in the vertical lined pattern, marked "1/10 14k Gold Filled" on both fountain pen and pencil. Full-sized model (not demi), with pen measuring a hair over 5 1/2" capped. Pencil is marked "Parker 51" on cap and carries a date code of 53, with one dot on either side (2nd quarter?), which would seem to date this set to 1953. Pen does not have the "51" designation (just "Parker"), but its cap is marked like the pencil's "Made in USA," and aerometric filler specifies "Superchrome" ink, which is consistent with 1953/4 production. The nib appears to be a FINE from the size of the iridium, but naturally I haven't inked to test for line width.
Condition: Pen is mint. Neither box, nor inner cap (inspected w/ penlight and swabbed), nor plyglass sac, nor nib when submerged in water shows any sign of ink. No dings, dents, personalized engravings, or brassing anywhere on pen or pencil. And both have sharply pointed jewels with no discernibe wear. Fully functional pencil that *might* have been used once or twice? It's difficult to tell since I don't know what these erasers looked like new (see photo). With the exception of a couple lead marks, even the box is in all but flawless condition. The photos speak for themselves: a truly stunning set that's quite difficult to find in such immaculate condition.
